And that’s a wrap on our 40th Season!

Wow, ROCA members - what a fantastic season. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication from Canadian Reflections to Christmas concerts and Food Bank fundraising through supporting our Rising Stars and pouring your heart into Messiah, and finally relaxing and having a grand time with our “Let it Be” finale. It was a season to remember.

Enjoy your summer but keep your instruments tuned and your voices warm for season #41! Here are the details so far (rack card to the right):

— For the first time in several seasons we were able to host a Volunteer Appreciation event which took place on June 28. Many thanks to those who were able to attend. It was a fun gathering.

— Before Orchestra’s first concert in October, we will be participating in Richmond’s annual Culture Days opening ceremony event with the Mayor Saturday, September 19. We will have a spot in the Richmond Cultural Centre’s Annex with all information about ROCA. This is always a great opportunity for us to introduce ourselves to the community. You’d be suprised how many people out there don’t know that our organization exists! Let’s continue to combat that with a great turn-out for this event. I’m calling for volunteers from across the organizations - instrumentalists, singers and board members alike. If you are available any time from 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday, September 19 and can join us at the Richmond Cultural Centre to promote ROCA - please email and let me know. Thanks in advance!

— Since the chorus will not have an official season concert until December, we are planning an “open” performance as part of the Culture Days which runs from Sept 19 - October 12. Please stay tuned for more information about that coming soon.

— If you would like to purchase Season Ticket Packages or ROCA Tote Bags that you can pick up in September, they are available for purchase online through the summer.

— We often plan a ROCA summer gathering - if you would like to help organize this, please let me know. Macdonald beach? New location? Picnic? Sing-along…

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your July & August. The ROCA office is officially “closed” but you can always email me if you have questions about anything.

Notice about our start-up in September will come later in August with registration information. We look forward to your return when we will get to make music together for another season!

Sincerely,

Rachel, ROCA Administrator
