Volunteers: Ticket scanners needed for November 3

We’re really short volunteers for Saturday’s concert. We have most of the positions filled, with the exception of the ticket scanners - we need at least 2 ticket scanners for this concert. If you know someone that would be interested, please have them email me at roca@roca.ca. Thanks!

Reminder: Registration and Payment
Dear Members,
This is a friendly reminder to register before tomorrow's rehearsal. It's important that we have your current info on file in case we (admin and conductors) need to get in touch with you.
As our volunteers will be bringing the membership dues to the office, I would please ask that you bring your cheques or cash to the first rehearsal so that they do not have to make several trips.

Welcome Back!
Welcome back to a brand new season of making music! If you haven’t already please check out our website at www.roca.ca to see the amazing concerts our artistic directors have planned for us this year.
I’d like to remind everybody that now is the time to be sending in your membership registration form. Go to Members Login at the bottom of the www.roca.ca website and log in with our password “rocaisgr8”. You can fill in the form right online AND this year you can also pay through e-Transfers. If you are paying via e-Transfers, please email the password to Meghan at roca@roca.ca.
If you prefer to pay cash or by cheque, Robert Bridson will be ready to take your fees for the orchestra and Bernie Barrett for the chorus on the first day back to rehearsals, Tuesday, September 11.
Unfortunately we still don’t have the ability to accept credit cards for fees.
The fees remain at $200 for the year ($75 for students) which is a bargain! But please remember, even if you know you won’t be able to perform in every concert we need you to pay the full $200.
If you have not already done so, please sign up for the Members’ Blog and Consumer Enewsletter on the same page. This is a great way to receive information through the year.
Chorus members who receive this email: If you are not returning to ROCA, please contact Lavonne to discuss returning your choir outfit. We really need these returned so that new members joining this year will be able to use them.

**Has the Richmond Orchestra or Chorus played an important part in your life?
**Have you generally enjoyed the path the organization has taken, yet feel that we still need to consider a variety of ideas in order to move forward and remain a vibrant and relevant organization?
**Are you at a point in your life when you could contribute a few hours a week to ROCA?
This fall, two of the ROCA directors, Bill Maranda and Cathy Bayley will be stepping down from the board. The board is looking for 2 or more people to join the board as members-at-large.
What expectations are there of our board members?
ROCA board members typically attend one 2-hour board meeting a month, currently on a Wednesday. Board members also attend all events/concerts of the organization as they are able. We also need new board members prepared to work in an area of specific interest to them.
If you are interested in joining the ROCA board, or would simply like more information, please contact Cathy Bayley at cathybayley55@gmail.com or 604-946-5132 (after June 25).
Also, if you know of someone in the community who you feel may be interested in this opportunity please contact Cathy with their information and she will contact them directly.
West Coast Amateur Musicians Society - summer music camp

"This year the vocal offerings at the music camp are great, lots of range from musical theatre to chamber choir music etc., with a final performance on the last day of the camp, on a Sunday afternoon. Sort of like a week-long ChorFest experience."

James is getting into the spirit of A Galaxy Far, Far Away and wants to dress up! Do you have a Darth Vader costume, Obi Wan Kenobi costume or perhaps a light saber that he could borrow for the show?
