EVA BAKER AWARD

The Eva Baker Award for Excellence is named in honour of founding member and long-time volunteer and patron Eva Baker. Previously the award was given to a performing member who was studying music and in recognition of overall leadership and performance excellence. The program is now undergoing some exciting changes, and we are moving toward an award that supports the artistic excellence of all orchestra and chorus members.

Two years ago, the Eva Baker Award for Excellence funded a chair for a principal cellist, Andrew Luchkow. Last year, the award is supporting choral workshops that will benefit all members of the Chorus. Future plans may include various kinds of support for the chorus and additional chairs for the orchestra.

The 2010-2011 Eva Baker Award for Excellence funded a chair for a principal flautist, Lynne Piening.
